Monumental Marathon Short Recap

Just a short note before I write my full recap of the race:

The best part of finishing a race is the victory kiss!

I had a few goals going into this race:

- Be healthy and alive on my fortieth birthday - check!
- Finish a marathon on my birthday - check!
- Get my time under four hours (finish time was 3:59:47) - CHECK!!!

All of those things were great, but there were other things that happened this weekend that were even better.

Three of my sisters and my seven year old nephew walked the 5k.  My wife and my seven year old son ran the 5k and finished in under 36 minutes!  And my oldest sister has decided to do a marathon on her fiftieth birthday in two years!  I am so proud of them all.
