It Just Doesn't Seem So Silly Anymore...

I was in bed reading a book and I could not get this thought out of my head (so now you get to read it).

When I finally decided to start exercising, I kept thinking how silly I must look walking around my neighborhood listening to books on tape with my old Sony Walkman (actually my wife's).

But each day I kept going out and walking a little more.

Eventually it just didn't seem so silly anymore...

  1. So motivating! It's always good to remember where you came from, especially after losing so much weight. You are an inspiration. Truly.

  2. Sometimes folks underestimate the intimidation that a new exerciser feels. Your post is a good reminder that everyone feels that way when they start. : )

    1. Hey Stephanie! You are absolutely right. I write about all these crazy races and runs that I do, but it was not always like that.

I believe that my biggest accomplishment was taking the first step out the door. Everything else is just my reward.

  3. You are so right! The first steps are the hardest. I always think - people are going to look at me and laugh - she is so fat- why on earth is trying to run? But perseverance is the key. I just need to remember every journey begins with one step. I may not end up doing ultra marathons like you and Randall - but if it gets me in shape and keeps me healthy - it's worth it!!
