And the winner of the "My Run" movie premier ticket giveaway is...

...Rachel R.!!!

From the website:
My Run tells an amazing true tale of two incredible journeys.  One took place in 1996, when Terry Hitchcock ran from St. Paul to Atlanta in 75 consecutive days, covering the equivalent of a marathon a day.  Terry’s “mega-marathon” was an incredible feat but it wasn’t even close to being his greatest challenge.  That began 12 years earlier when Terry’s wife, Sue, a woman of incredible warmth and strength died of breast cancer and Terry suddenly found himself alone raising three small children.  That marathon was the tougher journey, one much harder emotionally and spiritually than running 2000 miles from St. Paul to Atlanta.

The movie has received great reviews and has won numerous awards.

You can find out if the movie is playing in your area and purchase tickets at FathomEvents.com

"My Run" will premier in over 500 theaters March 31, 2011.

Recently I was lucky enough to speak with the producer, Mark Castaldo, about the movie and the work he has put into getting this incredible story on the big screen.

After watching the trailer and talking with Mark, I am absolutely stoked to see this movie!

As you may have noticed, I am lucky enough to be a certified running nerd.  I read about running, I talk about running, I tell jokes about running, I even read my son running books at bed time.  So when I heard that there was going to be another running movie premier and it was going to be shown locally I was pumped!

In January of this year I went to the movie premier of Hood to Coast with about fifty to sixty other running nerds (I even bought my running coach a ticket).   It was the first time I had ever gone to a theater to watch a running movie - it was a blast and really motivating.

Now I get the chance to see the premier of My Run and I am really excited.  Not only do I get to see this incredible story, I got a chance to talk with the producer!  He is really proud of the movie and the story.  You can tell he put a lot into getting this movie out to such a large audience.

The movie has received great reviews and has won numerous awards.

You can find out if the movie is playing in your area by going to FathomEvents.com

But here is the coolest part, Mark has given me two tickets to give away for the premier!

So if the movie is playing near you and you want to see this awesome movie send me an email and you will be entered in the drawing for the tickets.

Here are the rules:

Send an email to me at noah@mooreonrunning.com (one entry)
Become a "Fan" of mooreonrunning or if you are a Facebook "Fan" - tell me in the email and you will get one more entry.
Follow me or if you already follow my blog on Google, NetworkedBlogs, Feedburner or DailyMile -  tell me in the email and you will get one more entry (for each).

Entry cut off will be 11:59pm March 18, 2011.  I will use random.org to pick the winner and Mark Castaldo will contact you directly to get the tickets to you!

How cool is that?

Congratulations to Erica H. of EricaRunning! She is the winner of the two pair of Feetures! socks giveaway!!! Thank you Feetures!

By the way, I am now an official Feetures! Ambassador. This was not a stretch since I wear their socks and push them on my friends all the time.  They are the best socks ever made :)

I am wrapping up my last two weeks of training for the Palmetto 200 and I am psyched! This will also be my first 50 mile week of the year and I am feeling great!

Wednesday morning I ran my five mile tempo run. I ran with a great group and averaged about 8:00 pace including the warm up. Wednesday night I ran five miles at 10:30pm. This was a good test for the nighttime running I will be doing during the second leg of the race.

Thursday night I went out for another night run. I ran four miles (9:15). I realized that no matter how many flashing lights and reflective material I have on, I have to be careful. Not only did the people in the cars not see me, I almost got hit by a drunk guy on a bicycle!

This morning I went to the track. This was a good test of running in the morning after a run at night. I felt great. The workout was a good one and I hit all my splits:

1x800 warm up
Drills
4x200 (100 recovery)
4x300 (200 recovery)
4x400 (300 recovery)
1x800 cool down

I am resting this afternoon and this evening for my runs this weekend. I will be doing one in the morning, one in the evening and one on Sunday morning. And the miles just keep racking up...
I created a new running log for my six year old son, "The 100 Mile Adventure Log".  There is a link to download it on the right hand column.

Peyton is so excited, he has already completed two miles!  Who knew that giving a kid a chart to color would make him so excited about running?  He even went to the track with me this morning.  He did about 3/4 of a mile (he has the Cooper River Bridge Kids Race this afternoon and it is a 1/4 mile).

Yesterday was Boot Camp Graduation.  No workout, just got our t-shirts and some awards were given out.  The next session starts in about two weeks.  Not sure how much I will be doing, I am going to ramp up my mileage and sometimes Boot Camp does not go so well with running high mileage.

Today I did an easy track workout to dial in my pace for tomorrow's race:
1x400 warm up
Drills
2x400 (1:57) full recovery
2x800 (3:54) full recovery
1x400 cool down

I love the Bridge Run, but it is crowded (close to 40,000 people) and it does have a crazy incline at mile three (the Bridge).  I have no idea how I will do, but I am going to give it my best shot.  I have already decided that I am okay with puking at the end of the race :)

Don't forget to sign up for the Feetures! Socks giveaway.  You get to choose two pair of the best socks around and I will ship them to you.

Time for my first ever giveaway!!!

Not just yet...

As I was driving to work this morning I saw all the portalets and barriers being put in place for this weekend's race. I am soooo excited about the Cooper River Bridge Run 10k this Saturday! The 38,000 regular bibs are sold out and now they are selling the rest of the charity bibs. The weather looks great, so there could be close to 40,000 people at this race! How crazy is that?

As for my training, I took it easy this week to get ready for the race. I went to Boot Camp yesterday and then ran six miles in the afternoon. Today I went for a four mile run at lunch. I am not planning on doing much until Friday when I go to the track to dial in my pace for the race. I am taking my son to the track as well and then he is running the Kids Run that afternoon (he has officially started his 100 Mile Adventure Run).

Ok, so back to the give away and my favorite socks!
